LED is an abbreviation for Light Emitting Diodes. LED’s are tiny light bulbs that emit non-thermal specific wavelengths of light from the visible spectrum. LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive method of light therapy that stimulates the skins natural repair and rejuvenation processes making it safe for all skin types and effective in the treatment of a wide range of skin conditions.
The skin has the ability to absorb light and use it as a source of energy to stimulate a healing response. LED therapy uses specific color wavelengths of light that penetrate the skin at varying depths. The light energizes cells to produce collagen, improve elasticity and increase blood circulation and oxygen flow while releasing toxins. This in turn stimulates the anti-aging process, helps to normalize cellular imbalances, and improves skin tone and clarity. It is a natural biochemical reaction similar to that of plant photo-synthesis which triggers the body to convert light energy to cell energy. LED Light therapy is recognized medically and is a clinically proven treatment. Laboratory studies have shown that when skin is exposed to LED Light wavelengths, skin cells regenerate themselves on average 150% to 200% faster and hydration can be increased by up to 600%. Treatable Conditions – Amazing results!
LED Light therapy is effective for skin rejuvenation, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, acne and problem skin, sensitive and inflammatory conditions such as rosacea, eczema and psoriasis and post treatment healing and scars. With LED therapy there are some immediate visible changes in the skin, but most changes occur naturally over a few weeks. The light stimulates natural processes even after the treatment has stopped. LED is a progressive rather than an aggressive approach and builds resistance over time to aging and external factors.
An LED light treatment simply involves exposing the client’s skin to the beneficial light for 20 to 30 minutes. The number of treatments required can vary with skin type and condition. A single session is an ideal ‘pick me up’ however, a course of treatment is recommended for longer term results. As LED Light Therapy will not damage the skin there is no limit to the amount of treatments that can be taken and is an ideal all year round treatment.
LED therapy is a gentle, heat free treatment that does not contain harmful ultraviolet wavelengths and therefore cannot damage skin tissue. It is clinically proven to be safe for all skin types, colors and conditions and there is no downtime or risk of unwanted side effects.
Red light is beneficial for all skin types and has anti-aging and anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. It has been proven to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, smooth skin texture, improve skin laxity, increase circulation and lymph drainage and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and superficial hyperpigmentation. It is also an excellent treatment for sufferers of sensitive skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema and psoriasis.
Blue light has powerful anti-bacterial properties that decongest and purify acne and problem skin and help to normalize oil production. Blue light also promotes calming and relaxation.
The red and blue light in combination offers enhanced benefits and is clinically proven to be one of the most effective treatments for inflammatory acne and scarring currently available.
Patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment as collagen production continues.
Some patients only require a single treatment, once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 3-4 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6 week intervals.
